Chandigarh: Sanyuk Kisan Morcha (SKM) accused the denial center on his promise made for unions as protests held in various parts of Punjab and Haryana with farmers, responding to the call given by SKM, observing Monday as ‘betrayal day’.
SKM accused the MODI-LED Narendra Central Government not kicking words on a committee at the minimum support price (MSP), withdrawing cases against farmers and providing compensation to families whose members died during the years of agriculture.
Morcha said he would continue “Mission Uttar Pradesh” and a campaign throughout the state to “punish and beat” Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The new phase of the mission will be announced on 3.
February in Haryana, protests held in various parts of the country, with agricultural activists who accused the promises made at the end of the farmers’ protest at the Delhi border still not fulfilled.
In Karnal, hundreds of farmers gathered in Jat Bhawan and conducted a procession in the city.
They burned Ephigsi Prime Minister Narendra Modi outside the Karnal Mini Secretariat and raised slogans against the central government.
Protests were led by members of the BKU Committee (Charuni) Jagdeep Singh Aulakh.
Aulakh said the BJP government has promised to form the MSP committee and cancel the criminal case registered with farmers.
But there are no cases drawn or legal guarantees at MSP given, he said.
He said the victims of Lakhimpur violence were also not justice because the government did not take action against the UNI Minister Mishra Teni even though the report sat (special investigation team) held his son Ashish Mishra was guilty of the conspiracy to kill farmers.
In Jind, farmers issued a march tractor from villages to the Mini Secretariat, where they filed a memorandum to the district authorities.
Protests were also held at the District Headquarters in Ambala District, Kurukshetra, and Yamunanagar.
