Bengaluru: Kuningan BJP has a difficult task to find an acceptable successor to lingayat 78 years old and the Minister of Chief BS Yediyurappa if they decide to replace him.
Yediyurappa finished two years in the office on July 26 in its fourth round as cm and there were indications he might be asked to resign.
The source of the Privy Party for developments said the central leadership has chosen a dozen names with the 2023 poll in mind.
Karnataka is important because of the BJP gateway to the south.
The source said the party focused on eight people and emerging Lingayat will advance the legacy of Yediyurappa.
In this scenario, Dharwad West MLA Arvind Bellad, Vijayapura MLA BASANNAGUDA Patil Yatnal, Mines and Geology Minister Murgesh R Nirani and Basavaraj Bommai have the opportunity because they are from a strong lingayat community.
Rak-roots and RSS experiences that are strongly yatnal as the union minister may be useful.
He is quite popular in North Karnataka and is at the forefront of agitation earlier this year by Pichamasali Lingayats looking for a quota for the top caste group.
He was reportedly dropped by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Yatnal made the headlines recently when he openly claimed that the time Yediyurappa rose and his replacement would come from North Karnataka.
Bellad, 50, an engineer and businessman from Dharwad, is a low politician with a clean picture.
He is the son of RSS Veteran and five times BJP Mla Chandrakant Bellad.
Sugar Baron Nranan, the third time of Bilgi constituency in Bagalkot, has a good personal equation with the home minister Amit Shah.
In January, Shah launched an ethanol project at the Nirani Sugar Factory in Bagalkot.
“What can fight is some of the cases delayed,” said BJP MLA.
If Yediyurappa was asked to suggest the successor, he might mention the name of the minister in Bukavaraj Bommai, son of the former SR Bommai Minister of Justice.
Names of non-lingayat in the mixture include the Union Minister of Pralhad Joshi (Brahmin) and CT Ravi (Vokkaliga).
If the Head of BJP Karnataka, Nalan Kumar Kateel, the meaningful audio leak is something that must be passed, Joshi can be the top in the list.
Joshi, MP four times from Dharwad, strongly supported by RSS.
Ravi, 54, a four-time legislator of the Chikkamagaluru constituency, is the face of the vocligions that stand out from BJP and are known for Hindutva hard-line politics.
In September 2020, tourism and Kannada & Cultural Minister in this Cabinet increased as BJP National Secretary General.
Another name that does the round is BL Santosh, CN Ashwath Narayan, Laxman Savadi, Govind Karjol and Visveshwara Hegde Kageri.
However, many BJP Mlaas said they were not voters.
“Modi, Shah and JP Nadda will receive the last phone.
If they don’t find the appropriate replacement, they might ask Yediyurappa to continue until they find it,” said a BJP senior official.
