Amritsar: Five family members including three small children, which are believed to work as workers bound, saved by Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) after RAID conducted on dairy farms with the help of civil administration and police on Thursday.
Detail Dinesh Kumar, assistant project officers, victim assistance, BBA told that RAID was carried out in Dairy located in “64 QILIe”, Fatehpur, near Amritsar about the direction of the National Human Rights Commission.
Those who were saved include Jasveer Singh, 23, his wife Baljit Kaur, 22, Putra Gurjit Singh, 6, Fateh Singh 2 a Princess Reet Kaur, 4.
Surprisingly Jasveer Singh was found to be tied to the chain.
“This is for the first time I see anyone who is tied to a chain that is not only surprising but disgusting” said Dinesh Kumar.
Jasveer Singh along with his wife Baljeet Kaur and three children lived in Dairy for more than five years, he said.
The family was made to stay in two rooms in Dairy and not allowed to send their children to school.
Providing details, he told that Jasveer worked as a ‘laborered worker’ in Mohinder Singh’s milk which had given an advance of Rs 10,000 to Jaseveer in 2016 and guaranteed a monthly salary of Rs 3,000.
The family’s daily work includes caring for and milking 110 cows, including livestock spilled other than other housework.
Family’s daily mill began at 6am to 3pm and then starting at 4pm to midnight.
From 3pm to 4pm which should be a break, Jaseter tied with a shackle and every time he had to go outside then his family was not allowed to leave milk.
“Being a servant who is calling, Jasveer and his wife must make themselves available all the time to the employer”, said Dinesh.
The worst part is when Jasveer will fall ill, the employer will reduce Rs 300 per day from his salary of Rs 3,000 a month.
He told him that the alleged accusations had fled during the district milk and administrative attacks had not submitted fir.
Diesh said the BBA also saved a young man who also worked in Dairy.
