Fast action by Chikkaballapur police helped in the rescue of a 16-year-old boy from four men, who kidnapped him for Rsan Rs 2.5 Lakh, in an effort to take revenge on his father.
Palyam Damodharam, 34, from Leninnagar in Tirupati, Muttu Setty Manikumar, 43, from Kankinadu Village in Krishna District, Shaik Basha, 45, from Gandhinagar and Jaspi Lokesh Kumar Village, 36, Annavaram in Krishna, was cooling their heels in prison now.
The action took place on June 30 when five people approached Chowdamma, a resident of Devaganahalli in Gauribidanur Taluk, stated that they wanted to meet her husband.
When he went to the farm, they asked him to send someone to take them to the place.
Chowdamma who did not suspect asked his son Vijendra to accompany them.
But he didn’t return home until evening.
Meanwhile, Chowamma received a call from three different numbers, told her son kidnapped.
The caller demanded Rs 2.5 lakh to release it.
Chowdamma was worried to warn Gauribidanur rural police.
Immediately, Chikkaballapur SP GK Mithunkumar formed three teams to track the boy.
They traced the kidnappers in Tirchanur Road in the Old Tirupati within 10 hours.
