Bengaluru: Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda has been positively tested for Covid-19, a source close to him.
“He has tested positive for Covid-19 but he is asymptomatic.
However, he was accepted at Manipal Hospital,” the sources told PTI.
Supremo JD chose to be hospitalized as a precautionary measure, the source added.
A hospital bulletin said Gowda admitted on Friday and has been clinically stable since then.
“Vital parameters are within normal limits and he has responded to treatment.
He was comfortable and attended his activities from his room.
He continued to be monitored by our specialists,” said the bulletin.
Further sources said Gowda’s wife Chennamma was negative for Coronavirus and was at home.
The Chairman of the Minister of Basavaraj Bommai has hoped Gowda is a quick recovery.
“I hope for the former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda recovery quickly from Coronavirus infection and to continue his work as usual,” Bommai tweeted.
Karnataka Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar also prayed to God for a quick recovery of Gowda.
He further said he was in contact with a doctor who took care of the former prime minister and got an update about his health.
