Bengaluru: Koramangala, Hagaduru, Bellandur, and Begur are the only four wards in the city that reported more than 25 fresh Covid-19 cases every day, while most of the other wards were free from infection.
B Vijendra, Chief Health Officer, BBMP blamed the prevalence of viruses in four wards on migrant populations and poor testing at the train station and bus.
“We control the spread of Covid-19 for the most part, but the migrant population continues to affect us,” he said.
There are two types of migrant populations – professionals and IT students, and those who are included in low-income groups.
“According to our study, we pay attention to the majority of Covid-19 cases are among migrants from low-income groups.
These people returned from their villages and cities to continue their work,” Vijendra said.
The Civic Agency follows strict steps to control the spread of Covid-19 and is testing every new participant in the ward.
“We have told Asha workers to maintain strict vigilance in the environment allocated to them.
Once they found someone who showed Covid symptoms, they immediately sent it into isolation and started a contact search,” he said.
Because these people live in a closed room, the chances of viruses that spread from them are very high.
Bad testing at the border checkpoint is also a matter of worries.
“Many of these people will not take their vaccination shots or get their RT-PCR reports.
To avoid trials, they deflect the highway and use smaller roads to enter the city.
This is the type of person who adds to the case,” he said .
