Bathinda: After the London law professor gets access to 160 Bhagat Singh file files in Lahore in Pakistan for his book, demand has been raised from Punjab to see historically important papers.
Former Professor of Jawaharlal University Nehru Chaman Lal, who is an honor advisor for the archives and resources of Bhagat Singh Delhi, has written to the Chairman of the Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh and Minister of Finance Manpreet Singh Badal, asking them to take risks with their Pakistani punjab colleagues , , LAL claims that the punjab archive in the tomb of Anarkali Lahore has many files relating to the case of the Bhagat Singh court and the number is mentioned from the Professor London book.
Visiting scholars have limited access to these files, but Lal said the situation has changed.
On March 23, 2018, Lahore archive has a first month long exhibition of more than 200 items from the Bhagat Singh file.
Lal asks to get a copy and overcome the thousands of pages, besides photos and other ingredients.
Lal told Tii: “When Kuldip Narggarist Journalists were still alive, he shared with me the plan to reach the Ministry of West Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif, for these files.
He suggested that I go to Lahore to see the files.
But Our relationship with Pakistan worsened from time to time.
“He said:” A few years ago, when Rana Bhagwan Das acted as Chairman of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and on a personal visit to India, he gave Punjab and Haryana High Court in Chandigarh, copy of Bhagat Singh From Punjab from the Punjab High Court in Lahore.
But it was only a court note from the verdict, while the police investigation file was issued.
“In a book, the execution of Bhagat Singh, Barrister Satvinder Singh Juss who taught the law in London Kings College, produced 160 Bhagat Singh Case Files for the first time.
Juss gets it as an English scholar, and utilizes liberal resources.
LAL said: “It is the moral duty of the Indian Punjab to obtain a copy of these files, digital and photo prints, if not original.
Now when Pakistan Punjab also acknowledged Bhagat Singh as a fighter of freedom and even allowed foreign scholars to learn it, it fits that after 74 years of partition and nine decades of execution of Bhagat Singh, this case record is stored in Indian Punjab, in several universities or country archives.
