Guwahati: The Minister of State for Union for Communication Devusinh Chauhan has asked Iit-Guwahati to provide support for 5G communication.
Chauhan arrived at Iit-Guwahati on Monday, looking for support for other vital technology.
IIT-Guwahati has submitted a proposal to MOS to establish a center of excellence in advanced communication to develop the specific fields of the next generation communication system.
The minister started its interactive tour by visiting the Computer & Communication Center (CCC) at the Institute.
He was accompanied by the Director of Iit Guwahati, Prof.
TG Sitharam, Deputy Director Prof.
Sashindra K Kakoty, Interim Registrar Prof.
Srinivasan and Dean, Public Relations, Prof.
Parameswar k iyer.
A team led by Prof.
Roy P Paiy, Head, Eee Department, and Prof.
R Bhattarchjee, presents an overview of 5G related research activities, IC design, fabrication and characterization for 5G millimeter-wave, modulation of multi-user OTFS under heterogeneous.
User mobility, wireless information and energy transfer in heterogeneous tissue, D2D-based vehicle communication and iot computing and edge chased at the Eee Department and IIT-Guwahati contributions can make strong abilities to support the futuristic communication initiative from the Ministry.
The first minister showed Param-Ishan supercomputer facilities and its ability to several scientific applications, technology, weather forecasting and health care were shown.
Director Sitharam also told him about the upcoming SuperComputer facilities – Param-Kamreta – which is being installed in IIT-Guwahati.
MOS also inaugurated the BSNL Epbax & Bharat fiber service at the Institute to provide internet facilities and Hi-Speed WiFi on campus.
Furthermore, the special release of special cover on Silk Muga (GI Code: 55) was also held as part of the event.
