Guwahati: GMC Slaps Notification on 36 Pvt Hospital for the second time

GUWAHATI: GUWAHATI Municipal Corporation (GMC) on Monday serve notice on 36 of the 66 private hospitals, which failed to submit a certificate of occupancy within the time specified, for the second time asked them to submit documents within 15 days.
GMC Commissioner Devasish Sharma told the media here in Guwahati that 30 private hospitals have submitted their occupancy certificates and 36 have not.
“If the 36 hospitals failed to submit a certificate of occupancy within the next 15 days, they have to face legal action.
There is some construction in the city that has been doing construction without the permission of the body of the Civic and thus avoid the tax.

Occupancy certificate stating that the building is in compliance with the approved plan.

GMC Commissioner also said that a certificate of occupancy from 30 hospitals, which have been handed over, “unsatisfactory”.
He added that the GMC will also present a similar notification to the other construction, including private schools and shopping centers in the city.
It may be mentioned that the GMC generate revenue of around Rs 10 crore a month after locking.
Income of around Rs 14 crore a month before a pandemic.
