Guwahati: Special Express Guwahati-Howrah 02346 slipped near Chaygaon in Kamrup Assam district on Wednesday about an hour after leaving Guwahati station.
Head of Railway Frontier Northeast (NFR) Head of Public Official Guneet Kaur said that there were no reports of injury or victims.
“The train left Guwahati station around 12:20 a.m.
and slipped near the Chaygaon Station at around 1.36 in the afternoon in the Guwahati-Goalpara-New Bongaigon section under the Rangiya NFR division,” said Kaur.
According to NFR, four train trainers included a pantry car slipping.
“There are no injuries and victims for any passengers.
Passengers from the affected coach have shifted to other coaches.
When receiving this information, the accident and train assistance train coverage is immediately sent to the crash site,” added CPRO.
Senior Railway officials from the Head Office and the Rangiya Division have been in the location and assistance needed for all passengers.
Restoration work has begun.
