Guwahati rolls under artificial floods

Guwahati: Triggered by several heavy rain spells since Tuesday, the Guwahati section was shaken under artificial flood on Wednesday, causing severe discomfort for passengers.
On the other hand, a landslide was reported from Maligaon on Wednesday, without any news about every victim.
However, a woman was set to death when she allegedly touched the inverter at her residence, which was flooded with rain water, in Pandu on Tuesday night.
During the last 24 hours, Guwahati has received 80 mm rainfall.
Some places like Nalapara, Hugigion, Ulubari and Chandmari have been flooded because of the unrelenting rainfall.
According to the center of regional meteorology, Guwahati and Dhekiajuli in Sonitpur Regency at Assam, they received 80 mm rainfall, while Gossiigaon in Kokrajhar West Assam Regency received 70 mm rainfall.
Dhubri received 50 mm rainfall.
While residents bear panting because of a puddle of water, commuting is trapped in the middle of knee high water in several parts of the city.
Many people who lived in rent at Anil Nagar left their room on Tuesday night and shifted to other places when flood water entered their room.
