Bengaluru: Under the fire for the way it handled the alleged Bitcoin fraud, Bengaluru City Police on Saturday claimed to be taken to rise by a brandrishna hacker aka sriki while restoring Bitcoin stolen from him.
U-Turns came 11 months after with the police (crime) Sandeep Patil announced that they had confiscated 31 Bitcoin worth RS 9 Crore from Sriki, which allegedly hacked the exchange of Cryptocurrency, online game sites and e-procurement portal state.
Patil told the media that “we opened a new account and transferred 31 Bitcoin to the account”.
But on Saturday, the police said that even though the government’s orders were obtained to move Bitcoin, they were not touched.
“Account, claimed by the srishna accused of being his property, is actually a life wallet and he doesn’t have a key for it.”
