Chandigarh: Of the 102 candidates identified have cheated on the recruitment test for Constables, Haryana Cops has arrested 18, so far, and posted it in five cases at the Panchkula Sector 5 police station.
18 people arrested include 14 actual candidates, three impersonators, and alleged facilitators.
The police have ordered 44 people at all.
Those who were accused of using imitators had claimed that they were unconscious.
One of the investigators said: “We have to face them with video evidence and photography so they confess.
The candidates actually go to the physical test but send other people to the written exam.” Last June, the Staff Election Commission Haryana (HSSC)) had begun the process of recruiting 5,500 public assignments for state police.
Examination was in Haryana during August but the answer key leaked from Jammu and Kashmir.
Karnal police, Kaital and Hisar made almost 40 arrests.
Then in December, HSSC did a physical test of those who had cleared the writing.
Comparing video images from candidates in both tests, they found 102 instances from incompatibility.
Based on an internal investigation, HSSC gave 44 names to Panchkula police for reservations and further action.
Even when physical tests end, some of the candidates disqualified because they have doubted high measurements.
HSSC Chairman Bhopal Singh has promised them to re-examine physical attributes if they can send proof of adequate documentary variations.
