Chandigarh: The Punjab High Court and Haryana have directed the registration in general to submit a report that explains why there was no final decision taken against Judicial Officers Hemant Gopal suspected of taking a bribe of Rs 40 Lakh to release the defendant in the embezzlement of FCI rice fraud in 2013.
Gopal was charged In the investigation report on March 31, 2018 and was in suspension since then.
Justice Arvind Singh Sangwan has passed orders looking for status reports when hearing the application submitted by the former Punjab Mla Mangang Rai Bansal because it still operates with the same fraud.
He was punished on April 20, 2013, by the CBI court specifically in Patiala.

After hearing the request, HC issued a notification to the CBI to submit a reply to the dispute submitted by Rai and requested a Registrar General HC regarding the actions taken against the former CBI judge after his indictment in the question report.
Rai was punished and sentenced to seven years in prison in the rice scam where the CBI has registered a case in the direction of HC.
