Chandigarh: In a historic step towards empowering Haryana residents with the help of the police all the time, Head of Chief Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar will launch the newly integrated emergency number Haryana 112 for all emergency police, fires and ambulances from Panchkula on Monday.
The Director General of Police (DGP), Haryana, Manoj Yadava said that the minister’s chairman would also mark 601 emergency response vehicles (ERVs) equipped with cellular data terminals and other emergency related equipment.
Interior Minister Anil VIJ will lead the function and speaker Gian Chand Gupta will be present.
Describing the project as a major milestone for the police Haryana, DGP said that the launch of this project would allow the police to help people faster and more effective at the time of emergency.
Residents can seek emergency support by turning a single number, ‘112’ if there is trouble.
Emergency numbers will be launched under the Emergency Response Support System (ESS).
The new system will eliminate people’s needs to remember some numbers.
ESS is police integration (100), fire (101) and ambulance (108) help number to provide emergency services through a single number.
This project has been applied to the direction of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
Under the project, the sophisticated state emergency response center has been formed in Panchkula which has been digitally connected to the police control room at the district level and emergency response vehicles.
