SHIMLA: Amid the rumours on social media that some major changes could be made in Himachal Pradesh on the pattern of Uttrakhand, chief minister Jai Ram Thakur said “khastaur se kuchh jagah social media me chandukhane ki khabar chal rahi thi ye hone wala hai, me unko saaf kegh raha hun me jahan hun 2022 me be wahin rahunga.” (In some rumour-manufacturing centre on social media it was being said that some changes would be made, i would like to clearly say to them that i would be in same place in 2022 where i am today) While interacting with media persons at Shimla on Tuesday after his return from two days Delhi visit, Jai Ram Thakur said that it is time to work and he would work speedily for the development of state.
While reacting to the rumours of a sitting minister would be fielded by BJP from Mandi parliamentary seat in the coming by-election, chief minister said that no one takes social media seriously neither there is any need to take it seriously.
He said that party will decide whom to field for the election.
He said that before finalising a candidate for the election, there is serious discussion within the party on the candidates, feedback is taken from all quarters about the possible candidates only then candidate is selected after long consultation by the party.
He said that social media is no base to select a candidate.
He said those trying to create sensationalise things through social media end up being trounced.
He said that there is a set process to decide a candidate for the elections and after detailed discussions party leadership finalises a candidate.
After a long gap during second wave of Covid pandemic, chief minister had gone to Delhi where he met the Central leaders including union ministers to take up the pending issues of state.
He said that issue of by-election on three seats including one parliamentary seat and two assembly seats was also discussed with the central leadership.
He said that once dates are announced for the by-electionas, party would contest to win all three seats.
Jai Ram Thakur said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced free vaccine to all the States for inoculation of all 18 years and above people from June 21.
He said that decision to continue the system of 25 percent vaccines being procured directly by the private hospitals will go a long way in ensuring vaccine to more and more people through private hospitals at the decided prices.
He said that during meeting with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh he apprised him about his visit to Indo-Tibet border in Lahaul-Spiti district and requested him to provide additional funds to Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for repair and maintenance of border roads.
He also requested Union Minister to provide WALKER hospital Shimla to State Government if possible as this would provide additional medical facilities to the people of the State as this hospital was at a walking distance to IGMC.
He said that he had detailed discussions with the Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri regarding various issues pertaining to proposed airport in Mandi district and others Airports of the State.
He said that a team has reached Mandi to conduct LIDAR survey of proposed Greenfield Airport Mandi.
He said that he also had a detailed meeting with the National BJP President regarding working of government and party organization in the State.
