Shimla: Police Himachal Pradesh will immediately introduce ‘Register 29’ at all police stations to maintain the details of the people involved in criminal cases related to drugs and psychotropic.
Because the country has problems related to forbidden cultivation and poppy trade and hashish along with heroin (chitta) and synthetic drugs, a necessity is felt to monitor this drug traffic operator closer and comprehensively.
DGP Sanjay Kundu said that this new list would allow police officers to monitor drug trafficking and trading more effectively and also helped in reducing drug-related cases.
He said on this list in the continuation of the register began to monitor sex offenders, an unknown body, suicide, lost women and children who all produce useful information and data.
“This new list will also be included in the curriculum for new police recruitment,” he added.
According to the National Survey conducted by the National Narcotics Dependency Center, the prevalence of the use of Charas / Marijuana currently is 1.2% in India and in Himachal Pradesh is 3.2%.
Similarly, the use of opioids is 2.80% in punjab, 2.50% in Haryana, 2% in Delhi and 1.70% in Himachal Pradesh on the national average of 0.70%.
