Shimla: In Himachal Pradesh 10 more positive omicron cases have been detected.
These samples were taken from patients found positively from 15 to 31 December last year but all reports of the sequencing genome (WGS) have been received from the center of the National Disease (NCDC) on Friday.
According to the Ministry of Health officials, reports 127 samples for the sequencing of the intact genome (WGS) have been received from the National Center for Delhi’s disease control.
Among these WGS samples, mutations have been found in 10 samples.
He said that according to the WGS report received, all 10 WGS samples have been found positive for Omicron.
10 Omicron cases include 2 cases from Kangra Regency and this sample and this sample was taken from international passengers.
8 remaining cases sent from the Sentinel site included in Kangra Regency and this sample was taken from patients found positive from 15 to 31 December.
He said that until now a total of 25 cases of Omicron had been found in the state.
Initially the Omicron variant was only reported in international travelers, but now this variant has been reported from the community too.
