Chandigarh: Former Minister of Haryana and opposition leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that the BJP-JJP government constantly played with farmers when he filed a strong objection to the closure of the procurement of government rice.
“The government has caused a lot of damage to farmers by delaying rice procurement.
Because large amounts of farmers cannot get MSP.
They have to sell their plants to private institutions at a price that is easily achieved,” he said.
The former CM added that now, the government suddenly announced to stop buying in many mandis even though all farmers had sold their plants and large amounts of farmers still achieved mandis with their plants.
If government procurement is stopped in this way, farmers will not be able to get MSP and they will be pushed to acute financial pressure.
Hooda said while the government talked about buying every grain planted by farmers in advertisements, but it seemed to escape the purchase when we saw the situation on the ground.
“Gradually, the government is working on a plan to eliminate MSP and it is clear that the government’s claims and guarantees are only on paper,” he said.
The former minister’s chairman said the fertilizer crisis had deepened the situation for several days because farmers roamed the door to the door even for one kg of fertilizer even though the government claimed that there was no shortage before the media.
“Obviously from this that those who have power have been cut off from the ground and they have no problems with the problem of lay people and they deliberately ignore it,” he said.
Hoba said that in addition to problems such as MSP and fertilizer, farmers did not get compensation for losses due to rain and cutting water down because the government would advance to compensate for the loss.
“Both insurance companies and the government denied their role and even the application of farmers who needed was not accepted.
Farmers will not get MSP, fertilizer or compensation for damage to the coalition government for failing to provide assistance to farmers,” he said.
