Chandigarh: With the level of participants in the city declining and not many advanced people for Covid testing, hospitals take RT-PCR tests visitors in OPDs.
“All government hospitals take this test as precautions and indicators so we know if infection increases or decreases from time to time,” said Dr.
Amandeep Kang, UT.
As soon as the OPD patient comes for inspection, the RTPCR test is carried out.
“We are not waiting for reports to see patients.
Results are sent as text messages on registered phones.
If someone is tested positively, laboratory reports are shared, others are informed about negative results without a report,” said a doctor at the Government Multi-Special Hospital, Sector 16 .
PGI, however, did not do an RT-PC test on all visitors.
“We ask them the symptoms and history of travel and where needs are felt, a fast antigen test (mouse) is done.
There are many patients who come to the hospital and will add a queue if we test all,” said faculty members in PGI.
The Ministry of Health has observed that the surge in infection in the city was accompanied by an increase in the level of infection proportional among pregnant women.
“We must monitor the level of participation with the test to prevent the third wave,” DHS said.
The level of peposititivity in the city has been 0.65% while the test carried out in a day is around 1,600.
The recovery rate is 98.5% in Chandigarh.
The national pepositives level is 2.3%, while recovery is 97%.
