The opposition legislator has a reservation with the provisions of the High Court Judge who qualifies for the Lokayukta post.
Eliminating their fear, parlectural affairs and Law Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said through this amendment bill, the government has only expanded the scope of limiting the scope.
After finding it difficult to find a suitable candidate for the Lokayukta post for about the last four years, the Government of Himachal Pradesh has introduced a bill to change the actions of Lokayukta to make judges who qualified for the post.
Previously, Himachal Pradesh Lokayukta Act, 2014, had provisions that only retired the Supreme Court Judge or Chair of the Chief of the High Court who qualified for the Lokayukta post.
Himachal Pradesh Lokayukta Law, 2014, was applied to ask charges of corruption towards certain Public Functional and for similar things connected to it or incidental thereto.
While participating in a discussion about the bill, CPM MLA Rakesha Singha said for the benefit of the country, home and home leader, the amendment should not be done as a disaster.
The MLA Congress, including the opposition leader of Mukesh Agnihotri, Jagat Singh Negi, Asha Kumari and Harshwardhan Chauhan, also expressed their booking on the provisions of making high court judges who qualified for Lokayukta’s position.
Bhardwah said when the law was made, the amendment was needed according to the situation over a certain period of time.
He said most of the time, the position of Lokayukta remained empty in Himachal Pradesh because of the limited feasibility scope while people from outside did not want to come to the country.
He said to ensure that the institution went smoothly, the amendment had been brought.
He said together with the Supreme Court Judge and Chair of the Chief of High Court, now the High Court Judges also qualified to post.
He said the post of the minister’s chairman would not be relegated by the provision of high court judges who qualified for Lokayukta’s position as a high court judge had the same strength as the concerned justice.
.
He said the judge in the High Court was not appointed by the executive because they were appointed based on the recommendations of the Supreme Court.
When the bill was passed on sound, the MLAS Congress walked out of the house as a protest.
