Chandigarh: Haryana has canceled a 2.91 lakh ration card from beneficiaries that did not meet the requirements in the region in the last three years.

The Punjab government has almost 1.41 Crore recipients under the NFSA of a total population of 2.77 crore, according to the 2011 census.
These beneficiaries are distributed wheat and rice under TPD from almost 17,360 stores reasonable prices through the electronic Point of Sale Machine (e-Pos ).
After the ruling Congress in the state in 2017, SAD has accused the Punjab government to cancel the ration or blue card from many sad workers who qualified.
Because almost 3.94 lakh ration card holders in Punjab did not draw wheat after the introduction of biometric systems in stores reasonable prices for TPD, the government had ordered an investigation in October 2018 and canceling a ration card found not qualify.
Responding to other questions, the minister told that the department had received 4,483 complaints about irregularities and corruption in the public distribution system from 2018 to 30 June this year in 36 states and UTS.
Of these, 174 complaints related to Haryana, 127 to Punjab, around 10 to 10 years to Gandigarh and five to Himachal.
