Bengaluru: A 32-year-old young man who went to Bengalaru from Hyderabad, sometimes in Maruti Brizzza and sometimes quickly, to steal houses in the capital Karnataka, now cool his heels behind bars.
Sandeep Patil, Commissioner with the police (crime), said they had been looking for Basavaraj Prakash aka Vijay Kumar aka Junglee in 10 different home robbery cases reported inside and around the city.
A team from the Central Branch branch led by Inspector (Wing Protection Wing) Hajaresh Killalar finally succeeded in Prakash’s Nabbing from his residence in Hyderabad.
The police restored a booty worth 80 lakh, including 1.3 kg of gold from him.
SUV and Swift have been confiscated.
Prakash, an inter-country thief, originally from Bidadi in Ramanagara.
He would never stay in one place for more than five six months, police said.
“Used cars and sports utility vehicles are their desires.
But he will resell them after using it for several months, again to avoid the police,” said an officer Tii investigation.
“He took a small rental room on the outskirts of the city posing as a salesman or small businessman and paid rent for the previous few months.
He will come in a car or SUV, roam the residential area and return after identifying the target,” he added.
“Prakash will be back at midnight, barge to the house, mostly by opening the main door, stealing gold and silver ornaments and going to a distant place.
If he robs a house in Bengaluru, he goes to Tamil Nadu or Andhra Pradesh on the same night and Stayed there for several months.
Again, he will steal a house there and travel to Bengalaru or another place, “the officer explained.
Police said Prakash had never brought a cellphone while committing this crime.
He last came to Bengalaru in early June, again to steal a house.
Apart from the rigid opposition from his agriculture – Father, Prakash has married a girl’s chosen in 2012.
Asked to leave home, the bride just opened a bakery near Bidadi Bus Stand, but suffered great financial losses.
The pair together with their daughter came to Bengaluru looking for work in 2014 and reached Yeshwantpur train station to take refuge.
It was left without money to buy food for his daughter and his wife, Prakash left the station, seized the house and fled with Rs 900.
Between 2014 and 2020, Prakash was arrested 11 times on charges of robbery from Bengaluru, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
The CCB team tracks it for almost a year.
“Because he never used a cellphone, the track was difficult.
However, this time we tracked it to Hyderabad.
CCTV footage from the Toll plazas helped us track it and reach his hiding place in Hyderabad,” police said.
Asked about his wife and daughter, police said, “The wife seems to have distanced from him.
Half a year, he will be in prison.
When he came out, he was stealing a house and continued to travel between the three countries.
His lifestyle seems to force his family to move away.
