Tumakuru: A 45-year-old man who tried to poison drinking water at a boy’s hostel in Guruvapura in Chiksayatahalli Taluk from the Tumakuru District was sentenced to seven years of tight prison and slapped the fine of Rs 10,000.
Srinivas Busah went to the hostel to pick a flower when the hostel cooked Kariamma objected and told him to leave the place.
Insulted, Srinivas decided to teach Kariamma lessons and hatch plans so he would lose his job.
On January 17, 2018, he gave a bottle of poison to a boy and told him to put it in the boarding water tank filter.
The boy, warned of dormitory authorities.
Srinivas was arrested and complaints registered at the Huliyyar police station.
Court judges and additional v session V additionally found Sriniva guilty for trying lace hostel drinking water with poisons and punishing him.
If he failed to pay a fine, he had to undergo a strict prison year, said Judge B Shivakumar.
