Bengaluru: A 34-year-old man found infected by the Omicron variant of Coronavirus, has fully recovered.
He was sent back from Bowring Hospital and Lady Curzon on Tuesday night.
The man arrived from South Africa to Bengaluru on December 1 and had been tested negatively for Covid-19 on arrival.
However, in the symptoms that developed, he went for repetitive tests in the private lab and was positively accepted at Bobring Hospital in December 3.
The sample was sent for the order of genomes and reports confirming the Omicron variant on December 12.
Five major contacts and 15 secondary contacts tested negative for Covid-19.
“He experienced a mild infection and had been tested negatively on Monday and Tuesday.
He was dismissed on Tuesday night with a protocol,” said Dr.
Manoj Kumar HV, Dean of the Hospital.
While the man was a third-infected person in Karnataka, he was the first to be dismissed.
The first case was a 66-year-old South African patient, who fled quarantine and went to Dubai.
