Chandigarh: Adult pairs have the right to remain together in direct relations, according to the decision of the Punjab High Court and Haryana.
Justice Arun Kumar Tyagi, in a command passed on July 22, stated, “The two applicants are major and have the right to live together in direct relationships.
They are also entitled to the protection of their lives and freedom to the dangers of respondents.” A 18 year old girl from Chandigarh and a 20 year old man from Mohali, in their application, they have lived together after falling in love.
“Our relationship can be accepted by the boy’s family but not from the girl.
We understand the dangers of our lives and freedom,” said their petition, added that they had submitted a representation for police protection to UT SSP but no action was taken.
The Petitioner’s advisor, Jagan Nath Bhandari, was submitted before the High Court that two had made a representation on the search for UT SSP.
Both claimed that they got a threat, not in a position to return home and hide in a different place.
The girl also claimed that she was beaten by her uncle and cousin on July 12 and she left her house in July 14 and began living with youth.
The court, in its order, said the petition was disposed of with direction to the SSP to look into the complaints of the applicants and take the right action to protect their lives and freedom as needed by the situation.
“This court registry is directed to send a copy of this order along with a copy of the petition and representation to the SSP for compliance,” the Order said.
Both boys and women have submitted that they are adults and can live together as they wish.
