Bengaluru: Karnataka saw nearly 7.2 lakh reception in my PU this year, one of the highest number of registration in history.
That number was around 92,000 more than last year’s number of more than 6.2 reception lakh.
This increase was anticipated as the state government had announced all-promotional policies for SSLC students because of pandemics, who forced schools to close and class moved online.
A total of 8.7 lakh students have written the SSLC exam, and except for one student who was punished for imitation, all the others passed.
However, registration in II PU dropped below 6 lakh.
About 6.2 Lakh students have been registered in my Public Works last year which means that around 24,000 students seem to have broken up, even though the allpromotion policy in my Public Works too.
Last year, more than 6.3 lakh students have been registered in II PU.
“There are generally swimming in the second year registration every year,” said Snehal R, Director, Department of Public Education Education.
“Students migrate, break up, or do other courses.
We have asked college to assess the reason why they broke up this year.
” Meanwhile, there are still more than 1.5 lakh students who have completed SSLC but have not registered in PU.
Many of them have chosen to diplomas in the polytechnic and itís.
As per college education department, there has been a record acceptance for the Diploma program this time, with around 85% of seats in college government polytechnics are fulfilled.
“There are around 22,000 seats in government colleges and 18,000 have been filled.
Last year only around 55% was met, “said Pradeep P, Commissioner, College Education Department.
“However, the increase in acceptance for the Diploma program is not only because of the results of the SSLC; It was also because we changed the course and introduced advanced programs.
We also do many promotional activities.
” Students can also choose for Itis after class 10, the receipt is still ongoing.
According to officials from the Skills Development Department, around 55,000 seats have been filled with the government and helped it so far.
“This is the same as last year.
Unlike PU who is very popular, we have not seen a drastic surge in the amount.
College PU can increase seats and accommodate extra students.
Itís selected mostly by rural students, “said an official from the department.
However, experts say there is a need to trace drop out of school after SSLC and I am PU.
“One reason can be a pandemic,” said Niranjaradhya VP, educator.
“Many families have lost breadwinners and livelihoods.
They will see them 10th grade and my Public Works of children as potential breadwinners for families.
There are also other people who are just unable to pay for fees.
” Niranjaradhya said the state must plan the complicated method to track these children through schools and colleges and their grip through open school systems to ensure they complete their education.
“In the open school they can work and study at the same time.
There must be an incentive for them to complete their education II PU, “he said.
