Bengaluru: With the country witnessed a surge in Covid-19 cases, the Karnataka government on Friday ordered the district government to monitor the situation strictly in their respective jurisdictions and to impose additional detention steps that were deemed necessary.
It also asks for strict supervision steps to be implemented at the border post in accordance with applicable guidelines.
According to orders, it has been observed that there has been a surge in the number of new cases in bordering countries and in several places in the state, which requires close monitoring and micro detention measures that are strictly testing for test-isolates and vaccinations that are focused to contain the spread of Covid-19 locally.
Signed by the Ministry of Revenue (Disaster Management) of the main Secretary N Manjunatha Prasad, he said after assessing the Covid-19 situation that developed in the state, the Utama-BBMP Commissioner, District Commissioner Deputy has been directed to monitor Covid situation strictly in each.
Jurisdiction and based on their assessment of the situation, can impose additional detention steps as deemed necessary.
“Next, the strict supervision measures will be implemented at the border post in accordance with applicable guidelines,” he added.
Karnataka on Thursday has reported 2,052 new cases of Covid-19 and 35 deaths, taking the total number of infections to 29.01.247 and tolls to 36,491.
This compared with 1,531 fresh infections and 19 deaths on Wednesday, and 1,501 new cases and 32 deaths on Tuesday.
The total number of active cases in the state on Thursday is at 23,253.
While the level of participation for that day reached 1.37 percent, the case mortality rate (CFR) was at 1.70 percent.
Previously that day, spoke to reporters in New Delhi, Chairman of the Minister of Bumavaraj Bommai said there was a need to tighten the border and take steps to put testing obliged to stop the spread of the virus.
By declaring that he had spoken with Deputy Commissioner Dakshina Kannada, Chamarajanagar, Mysuru, and Kodagu (that Kerala border) to raise Covid cases, he said, “we have to tighten our borders.

Deputy Commissioners and police supervisors must take responsibility for checking, he said, adding that he had spoken with the major secretary in this matter.
