Chandigarh: Khuda Rehabilitation Colony Lahora drowned in knee water twice – on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
Rainwater entered the residential area of Patiala Ki Rao (a rivulet) which overflowed at least four to five feet above because of excessive rain in the catchment area.
Then, heavy rain in the morning adds to the tribulation of residents.
Because mud in Patiala Ki Rao has raised its level, the residential area pays the price after the rainfall that is unrelenting.
Moreover, the bridge in Patiala Ki Rao Choe was not fully damaged by the authorities.
When the job was abandoned in the middle of the road, it again stopped the flow of water.
The population caused an anti-departmental slogan, when the team officers on Wednesday reached a place to visit the affected area.
Residents argue with officials, ask why the problem continues during the rainy season despite repeated guarantees.
About 100 houses in the colony located along Patiala Ki Rao were affected.
“The problem was raised during the meeting of Monsoon’s readiness with UT advisor.
But no mud removed is not a fully damaged bridge,” said the source.
Except for Khuda Lahora, the city did not watch great waterlogging.
In some low areas, water accumulates during shower, but is drained in some time.
