Mohali: From now on, only the second dose of the Covid vaccine will be given every Sunday at all Covid Government Vaccination centers (CVC) in all districts.
The first dose will be given to all days except Sunday, said Civil Surgeon Dr.

Vikrant Nagra said this in accordance with the Punjab Government’s instructions to provide the second dose of Covid vaccines to beneficiaries every Sunday.
Health officials said the decision was taken considering the fact that many people delayed the second dose of Covid vaccination.
Except for Sundays, the remaining vaccination sessions will continue as before.
Health officials reiterated that there was no shortage of vaccines in the district and beneficiaries must make themselves vaccinated without hesitation.
Civil surgeons said that school teachers and college or other educational institutions will be given the second dose of Covaxin after 84 days.
He said while some teachers visited the centers to get the second dose before the period determined 84 days, they had not been given relaxation.
Health officials said the district government had ordered them to ensure vaccination of teaching and non-teaching staff in all government and private schools, universities, coaching centers and other educational institutions and students over 18 years on September 30.
School parents and college students will also be encouraged to get vaccinations.
They said this decision was taken to protect educational institutions and others from possible third covid waves.
