Chandigarh: In the past few days, Punjab contributed 53.46% of deaths recorded in 5 states of polls – Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur – where the selection is scheduled to be held next month in the midst of the third wave of Omicron.

At Uttar Pradesh, the most populous country in the country, 44 Covid deaths were reported while 30 people surrendered to the virus in Goa, 17 in Uttarakhand and three in Manipur.
After Goa, where 39.5% of the samples were tested positively in the past week, Punjab had a highest level of 18.5% whereas in Uttarakhand 11.5% of the positive tested samples.
Uttar Pradesh has a 6.4% low weekly lift level among polls while in Manipur 9.9% of the sample has a virus.
