Mangaluru: In another case from the moral police, two students who have a different community allegedly attacked and harassed to travel together at a twowheeler in Idyhya village near Kapaykal here on Monday night.
The police arrested six people from the place and had registered the case.
“The defendant said they came from a pro-Hindu organization,” said Commissioner of Police Mangaluru N Shashi Kumar.
Helper, a BSc student from a college in Mukka, said he dropped his friend to his apartment complex at Ida at 10pm when the defendant was for them and began to abuse them.
“The accusation followed students on their bikes.
They intercepted them near the girl’s apartment complex and asked their names.
After students revealed their names, the group abused them.
They rebuked the girl for traveling with a boy from another community.
The person then attacked students and even angry with the simplicity of the girl by touching and pushing it, “said the source.
The police named the arrested as Prahalad, Prashanth, Teacher Prasad, Prateesh, Bharath and Sukesh.
“The defendant pampered himself in criminal activities that could lead to violations of communal harmony.
They also threatened complainants with terrible consequences to move with a girl from another community,” police said.
According to sources, a case has been listed under various parts of the IPC at the police station as a result of the police and the defendant produced in front of the court.
