Guwahati: Turning off the Assam government’s request for an additional six-week time to submit a comprehensive report on police meetings that have taken place in the state, the Assam Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has given four weeks to the government.
Taking awareness of Suo Motu, the Commission on July 7 has asked the state government to conduct an investigation into the situation that leads to shooting 12 accused of accusing police shooting because the new government takes over in one month.
On August 16, the State House and Political Department had searched for six-week extra time because many district authorities had not submitted a report.
But AHRC was given four weeks.
