Bengaluru: Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research received a Heart Hospital complex 350 extra beds on Wednesday.
This new complex was built by the Foundation Infosys under the guidance of its chairman Sudha Murty at the cost of Rs 103 Crore.
This institute will now have 1,800 beds, including those in MySuru and Kalaburagi unit, said Director Dr.
CN Manjunath.
“The new infosys block will have 100 ICU beds, 250 public beds, along with two heartphones and three operating cinemas,” said the doctor.
“Jayadeva is one of the best hospitals in this country providing high-quality and affordable heart care to poor patients and in need.
We are happy to join our hands with it,” said Sudha Murty.
Talking about his relationship with government facilities, Murty said his children were born in a government hospital.
“My father and sister, both doctors, worked at a government hospital,” he said.
The Chairman of the Minister of Basavaraj Bommai said the state worked on a health vision document.
“In all regional centers, we must have a hospital like Jayadeva who is sought by poor patients,” he said.
