Guwahati: Secretary General of Janata Dal (United) is responsible for the Northeast, Afaque Ahmad Khan, said the party would go alone in the election of the Manipur Assembly and will involve its candidates in about 40 of 60 assembly constituencies.
Khan added that Congress sat down.
MLA Lamlai Kshherimayum Biren Assembly Constituency has joined JD (U).
Biren was rejected by a ticket by the congress this time.
Previously on Sunday, SuperCop Thouunoujam Brinda joined the party.
JD (U), who is a member of NDA, has also traced the former Head of Manipur Secretary Oinam Nabakishore.
