Bengaluru: A total of 24 people have lost their lives due to continuous rain in all states since the beginning of this month, the officials of the Karnataka Disaster Management Authority on Sunday.
In accordance with the losses and early damage estimated by the authorities so far since November one, 658 houses have been completely damaged, while 8,495 houses have been partially damaged.
Meanwhile, it is estimated that 191 animals have lost their lives until now; Plants in more than 4 hectares have been damaged, of them 3,79,501 hectares are agricultural plants and 30,114 hectares are horticultural plants.
The data distributed by officials also showed that 2,203 km of the road had been damaged.
Other infrastructure damage has so far included 1,225 schools, 39 PHC, 1,674 electricity poles and 278 electrical transformers.
According to official data, since November 1, while 27 districts have received excessive rain, in 21 districts there have been more than 200 percent of the departure of normal rainfall.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Chief Justice Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday night led a meeting with senior ministers and officials to review the destruction caused by the rain and relief measures carried out by the government.
