Bengaluru: Karnataka State Government had allowed the public celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi maximum of five days since 10 September with the norms of strict Covid effect while cultural programs and processions is forbidden.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday to consult with domain experts and colleagues in the pressure mounted on the government to allow the public celebration of Ganesh festival and it was decided during the meeting for an hour that can be granted by permission.
“The government has decided to allow the installation of idols of Ganesh in public for up to five days only in districts where the rate of positivity of the test Covid less than 2%.

The government has restricted the height of the idol with two feet if installed in homes and four legs for public installations, in line restrictions last year.
Mandated that the idols should be made of environmentally friendly materials.
While the idols should be immersed only in designated tanks or ponds, Ashoka will lead the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara officials meeting on Monday to decide the modalities and venues for idol immersion.
BBMP is likely to use a mobile tank and Karnataka state pollution control boards identify places where immersion.
No night curfew which continued throughout the festival and people prohibited from venturing after 9pm.
