Bengaluru: The average level of daily testing in the state for the past week has 0.7%, crossing a sign of 1% only once on August 23.
However, while this is a clear sign of a low transmission of Coronavirus Novel, Dr.
MK Sudarshan, Chair of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), said it was not time to lower someone’s guard against the virus.
“The level of testing is a good sign and the overall situation is not worrying,” Tac’s head said.
But he said the restrictions had to continue for two more weeks, until Ganesh Chaturthi ended.
At present, only six districts report the daily test level of more than 1% during the past week, with Dakshina Kannada, at 2.6%, on the list of the list.
Experts say only Dakshina Kannada is still a problem.
“This [Casea and Positivity] can continue until the end of September.
We will get a clear picture only in October,” Dr.
Sudarshan said.
The daily test level is similar to the level seen in January to the beginning of March, when the state consistently reported the level of participants of less than 1%, which increased to almost 4% at the end of March, and peaked at 31.6% at 31.6% of the week May, during the second wave height.
At the end of May, the level of participants had dropped to 13.6% and fell further to 6.5% on June 10.
Gradually rose below 2% at the end of June.
In July, the rates floated between 2.6% and 1.5% before falling further in August.
Hilddr Giridhara expected Wednesday, epidemiologist, and members, the Covid-19 technical committee, said the situation of the pandemic has runs with the expected line with a lower transmission rate, or what is known as the level of endemic.
“The expected case level depends on several factors including the quality of detection and test strategies.
If the level of testing is uniform and there is no dilution in a detection strategy, we will continue to see fewer cases,” said Dr.
Babu.
He added: “In fact, we must worry if there is no case because it means the system does not have sensitivity to take infection.” He said if the case was not detected when the level of transmission was high, death would reveal the actual position.
On Saturday, four districts – Yadgir, Bagalkot, Bidar and Raichur – reported zero new cases.
Ten other districts reported new cases in one digit, with Vijayapura only reported one case and Koppal and Gadag two new cases respectively.
“We must increase supervision in such districts just to make sure there are no cases missed,” said Dr.
Babu.
The health department official said the districts such as Yadgir and Gadag saw many cases during the first and second waves, but the infection had fallen dramatically now.
They said they would continue with the steps to curb the spread of the virus.
“Although the level of participant is below 1%, the daily testing target has been set at 1.7 lakh a day and 30% of them will be done through a fast antigen method where the symptomatic people are isolated quickly and is insulated quickly.
Vaccination coverage too Increases, “said a senior official.
