Bagalkot: A farmer was killed after being hit by a car driven by Chidanand Savadi, son of Deputy Chief of Minister Laxman Savadi, on Monday night in Kawam Cross on NH-50.
The deceased, was identified as Kudlepa Boli, 56, an ice hail from ChikkahArgal Village.
Members and residents of his family village said that he was very hurt in vain when he returned from the fields in his bicycle.
They alleged that Savadi tried to escape from that place instead of taking the injured to the hospital.
“When we objected, he even threatened us by saying he was the deputy head of the minister,” they added.
The source at the station said that complaints were registered with the driver of the car.
Lokesh Superintendent Sp Bagalkot, Jagalasara said that the car was driven by the Savadi driver Hanumant Singh Rajput and Savadi was present on the spot.
It was thought that Savadi and his friends returned in two cars after visiting Hampi, Hosapete, and other tourist attractions.
