BENGALURU: The Karnataka government on Thursday expanded the statewide lockdown — that was to finish on June 7 till 6am on June 14 and declared another relief package of Rs 500 crore which will directly benefit over 60 lakh employees in unorganized industries with one-time financial aid.
TOI, at its Thursday edition, noted that the government would expand the lockdown with per week and unveil another tranche of aid bundle.
All of present constraints on economic activities, movement of vehicles and people will last until mid-June.
Explaining the reason for the conclusion, the leader minister BS Yediyurappa said the amount of energetic Covid instances and new illnesses has come down considerably, however the transmission series hasn’t yet been broken in several areas.

The country was under lockdown because May 10.

The government has chosen to offer 500gm of cocoa powder to authorities college pupils for May and June.

The Karnataka Small-Scale Industries Association, decided to exempt MSME from payment of fixed prices on electricity for May and June and concession of Rs 3,000 for powerloom employees, said the authorities ought to have done more for the industry.
Rahul B Goyal, secretary of Karnataka Hardware and Allied Merchants’ Association, stated “The government failed to supply us relief this past year and this season also.
