Bengaluru: Karnataka on Wednesday gave a vaccine 11.6 lakh covid-19 at 9pm, which was the highest for the country that day.
A total of 78.3 lakh people took vaccines throughout the country, while Karnataka contributed nearly 15% of vaccination coverage.
Targeting 10 lakh jabs every Wednesday, the state government has deactivated plans for special vaccination drives.
“Karnataka topped the country on Wednesday by giving the highest number of covid vaccines,” said K V Trilok Chandra, Health Commissioner, Karnataka.
Maharashtra stood second by giving 9.6 lakh doses and followed by Uttar Pradesh with 9.2 lakh.
