Highlighting that the event swore was just a “formality”, no one realized the mistake and Munenkoppa went ahead and signed the Minister’s Registry in accordance with the protocol and continued to take a senior party blessing.
The minister, although technically did not swear, proceeded to attend the first cabinet.
However, not long after the cabinet began, Raj Bhavan called the head secretary and reminded him of the mistake.
Head of Secretary P Ravi Kumar, according to sources, rushed to the cabinet room and reminded Munenkoppa and cm about shame and asked the former to go to Raj Bhavan to take an oath once again.
Raj Bhavan asked Munenkoppa to come to the Governor’s office at 6:30 a.m.
to do it back.
“It was very embarrassing for the government because we had to go back to all actions.
Munenkkppa vowed, in front of the governor for the second time, and ensured that this time either oath was recorded,” said a government official.
