Gadag: Inter-caste pair, who married three decades ago, was attacked by relatives of caste on their husbands in their homes in Asuti Ron Taluk.
One of the relatives suspected of urinating in their home and attacked the woman, Dalit, with ax.
A case has been submitted under the caste and the scheduled tribe (prevention of atrocities) acting in addition to the IPC section, including murder efforts.
Shivavva Basappa Talawar, 48, said he belonged to the Valmiki community (which fell in the ST) and married Iranagouda Basanagouda Kulkarni, 55, belonging to the top caste, about 28 years ago.
