The District Administration in Koppal has made it mandatory for all people – visitors, officials, and even administrative staff – to provide a vaccination certificate to enter the Deputy Office of the Commissioner.
In a command incurred on Saturday, Suralkar Vikas Kishor, DC, said about 1,000 people, including officials and staff from the government department, visited his office every day.
With the third Covid-19 wave which is likely and to prevent the spread of infection, people must work together and follow instructions, he said.
The DC office has arranged to vaccinate people at the Auritorium Hall in place from 10am to 2 noon from Monday, and visitors have not received a kick, will be given a dose in place.
For this they need to produce voter IDs, Aadhaar or other government ID documents, order status.
Some have objected to orders, saying it violates a circle sent by head secretary P Ravi Kumar on September 2.
Kumar has instructed all DC and DHOS not to link vaccination drives with rations, pensions or other government programs.
He said DC had to motivate people to be vaccinated by organizing awareness programs rather than imposing conditions.
However, Kishor told Tii his intention was to encourage people to take a shot.
“If people who are not vaccinated come to our office, we will help them inoculated in a camp arranged in place,” he said.
“This applies not only to the public, but also to government staff and officials.”
