Kasaragod students who are excluded from RT-PCR test rules: syndicate members

Mangaluru: Mangalore University Member Syndicate K Ramesh has written to the Chairman of the Bakavaraj Bommai Minister who is looking for liberation for Kasaragod District students in Kerala from the RT-PCR mandatory test on the Border of Dakshina Kannada.
He urged the state and administrative district government to allow students from Kasaragod to enter Dakshina Kannada with a vaccine certificate and thermal scanning at the checkpoint.
“Thousands of students from Kasaragod visited Dakshina Kannada regularly for educational purposes.
The Government of Karnataka has also encouraged students from the border district.
Many poor students from Kasilagod depend on college in Dakshina Kannada.
According to the current guidelines, only those who have negative reports RT- PCR was allowed to enter Dakshina Kannada.
Because of the number of Covid-19 cases reduced, district administration must consider to allow students from Kasaragod based on vaccine status and their body temperature, “Ramesh urged.
Referring to recent interactions with students and parents of Manjeshwara Taluk in Kasaragod District, Ramesh said many students complained of pain in the eyes and headaches after undergoing RT-PCR tests often.
They were forced to go to PHC every week to undergo a RT-PCR test, he added he had sent a request to the Minister of Main Basavara Bomai, Secretary of the Head of State P Ravikumar, Minister S Angara, Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and Deputy Commissioner of Rajendra.
