Bengaluru: Although the government has issued a safety guideline with a view to prevent a surge in Covid-19 cases, political parties in Karnataka, including the BJP in power and the main opposition congress has shown appreciation for them.
They have arranged demonstrations and procession, even though there is a blanket ban on such events.
The key-open guideline issued by the state government in July has banned political demonstrations, procession and church people in the state.
And while events such as marriage and social meetings are permitted, there is a hat on the number of participants.
The rules are also states must maintain social distance and always wear masks when in public.
But top officials and political party workers continue to violate this guideline with impunity, while upholding authority, which does not miss the opportunity to crack down on ordinary people, close the eyes to this violation.
The powerful BJP is at the forefront of this violation.
Hundreds of, if not thousands, have gathered because of ‘Janashirvada Yatras’, all distance themselves and most of them do not wear masks or wear it incorrectly.
Siddaramaiiah in Raichur on Tuesday Yatras was intended to ‘introduce’ parliamentarians from Karnataka, who was recently inaugurated into the cabinet of trade unions, to the people.
This includes Shobha Karandlaje, Bhagawant Khuba, Anecal Narayanaswamy and Rajiv Chandrashekar.
The ministers launched their yatras on Monday and have attracted party workers and followers in large quantities.
While Chandrashekhar started his yatra from Hubballi-Dharwad, Shobha Karandlaje kicked his tour from the Mandya District, and Khuba from his home district in Bidar.
Narayanaswamy started his yatra on Tuesday from the Tumakuru District.
“The Covid-19 guidelines have been routinely violated on all these programs,” said Basavaraju, a member of the NGO in Hubballi.
“In fact, these parties should be a role model for ordinary people.
But unfortunately, they are at the forefront of breaking the rules imposed by their own government.” Congress was not far behind.
Thousands of party workers have gathered to welcome the opposition leader Siddaramaiiah and KPCC President DK Shivakumar in Raichur, where party division meetings are being held.
There was no social break to follow, also party officials wear masks, many things disappointing lay people who were hunted by police and marshal for the same violations.
“When ordinary people were found to walk on the road without a mask, the police immediately made him pay a fine of Rs 200 on the spot,” said Vijay Patil an advocate from Beliagavi.
“But the same police remained a mute audience while dealing with political parties and officials.
This is a very unfortunate situation.” False test reports: CM promises Minister of Action Bumavaraj Bommai said the government would begin actions against those who sold Covid negative test reports 19 fake for cash.
Asked about such fraud in testing camps, said Bommai, “it has come for my notification.
I will give an instructions to the officials to take action against those involved in such practice and end it, whether it’s at the train station or Stand the bus.
“He said those who had given such a negative certificate, would be made to undergo another test.
