Bengaluru: For the second year of running, the Karnataka government has banned mass meetings in the state and also limit the happy new year in hotels, pubs and restaurants considering the number of Covid-19 cases which are great and the rising reportage of Omicron strains.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting of the Ministry of Health officials, the Chairman of the Minister of Bukavaraj Bommai said the government had taken a scare surge in Covid-19 because of the Omicron strain and had placed certain sidewalks for new parties and even for Christmas celebrations.
“Given the Covid-19 cases and advice from our Technical Advisory Committee experts (TAC), we have decided to ban all mass meetings for new year celebrations and special events by inviting Deejays and dance events at hotels, pubs and restaurants To ring – in the new year, “said Bommai.
However, all restaurants, pubs and hotels will be permitted to operate at a power of 50 percent and that only a double vaccinated employee that can be operated.
CM Bommai also said the same ban would be expanded at special events to be held in the apartment complex in the state.
“The prohibition must be enforced in the apartment complex by the building / apartment association,” said Bommai.
CM said the ban would be valid from December 30 to January 2, 2022.
Regarding the Christmas celebration, the state government said there was no limit on midnight mass hosting in the church but crowding and public mass would be banned.
“We have no problems with the masses carried out in the churches, with the right social distance norms followed and the right norms of other covids followed.
However, the prayers held in large amounts outside will not be permitted,” said Cm.
Karnataka, on December 20, has recorded 7074 active cases of Covid-19 and 19 cases of omicron.
