This country spends Rs 8 per child per day to promote the health of children from the poor.
Replying to questions from M Narayanwamy Congressmen in the Legislative Council on Tuesday, women and the minister of Children of Halappa Achar said this department spent Rs 8 per child every day on nutrition, Rs 12 for severely affected pregnant women.
He said children aged between 3 and 6 years, enrolled in the holders of Angganwadi, were eggs eating twice a week and 150ml of milk at five days under the Ksheera Bhagya scheme.
The state also provides 15 grams of cream milk and 10 grams of sugar.
In the district retreat, including Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur and Koppal, eggs supplied three times a week and milk at six days.
For children who suffer from severe malnutrition, eggs are given five days and milk 200ml for three days a week.
For mothers who expect, the government provides midday food.
