Bengaluru: Sleuth from the Central Crime Branch (CCB) has arrested a son of an astrologer for allegedly extorting Minister of St.
Somashekhar, Nishant, resident of RMV extension, with obscene videos and photos.
Rahul Bhat in the mid 20s, residents of RT Nagar, were arrested on the basis of complaints submitted by Nishant with the Cybercrime police in the last week of December.
The FIR was registered under the Act-2000 Information Technology and Indian Criminal Code (IPC) Section 384 (extortion).
Bhat said as an enemy Nishant.
Sources say some more people can be captured in this case.
“We have demanded a bhat for seven days and traced the number from which obscene video was sent,” police said.
The video allegedly showed the son of the minister with a woman.
“On December 25, someone sent an obscene video clipping and picture to Srinivas Gowda and Bhanuprakash cellphone, my father’s personal secretary.
Then, the sender sent a message that said if we did not pay the money requested by them, this cliping would be uploaded on social media and shared With TV channels.
This fake cliping was edited to tarnish my pictures and my father.
There are people who influence this, “Nishant said in his complaint.
Nishant accused the criminals planning to complete their political career.
Commissioner with the police (crime) Raman Gupta confirmed to the Toi that the accused of being arrested in this case and further investigation was on.
