Kalaburagi: Three MediaPereka who went to cover the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) event, which was attended by the Chief of Mohan Bhagwat, was rejected because it was not wearing Ganvesh – a sangh uniform.
RSS members wear black hats, full white sleeve shirts, brown pants, canvas belts, brown socks, and black shoes.
Two journalists and a photographer with a vernacular daily went to casual clothing to cover Sankranti Utsava annual Sangh here on Thursday, but was stopped by RSS workers at the entrance.
The heated argument occurred between three and RSS workers who insisted that those who covered the event must also be dressed accordingly.
“How can they expect journalists to wear certain uniforms? ‘Can cover the event as long as they are in uniform.” Our workers who did not come in RSS uniform were also sent back.
Journalists who came in uniform were allowed to cover the event, “Joshi added.
Joshi also said that on previous events where the Sangh had invited journalists, the uniform was not mandatory.
Vijay Mahansh, a Precada of Kalaburagi, said he had told all journalists who covered Sankranti Utsav to come in the uniform mandated.
